We have a place by our side interance to our house where we are thing of putting the pond and water fall, but are not sure if its ok to have a pond right next to a house. We have to remove a few busches and a tree to put it there. Is there a rule of how close a pond should be to a house?

Location, Location Location, the Key Question
The pharse location, location, location applies here also. David answers your question pretty good, I want to encourage you to check out the post about choosing the best location for your water feature.

Yes and No
Depending on where you live , what the climates like in winter, soil type and what if anything is buried under ground like gas, hydro, ect. I have seen beautiful pond of all sizes right up against a house . But would NOT reccomend it if you get a winter freeze, as the force of the ice will crack or break a foundation wall.
